More research also found that using Denatured Alcohol can clean the heads with excellent success.and I just happen to have some in the workshop. I guess letting it sit idle for so long, dried up the ink in the printer head. Research determined that it was a printer head situation. I was getting a error code, (five orange lights and one green). I unplugged the mini plug and plugged it back on to the power pack.and it came to life! Excellent!!! Put it all together and prepared to see if it would print. I opened it and examined the power connections and nothing seemed wrong, smelled bad or looked damaged. I wanted to bring my Canon iP3000 back to life, as it had been sitting idle for about three months. I have another Canon Photo printer, but that uses the large cartridges as well. But that one uses the large ink cartridges and expensive. I have one already and use it for the laptop. Also, the newer generation of printers don't get along with my desktop, (Windows ME), and are multi-functional, (Scanner, fax, copier & Printer). Economical, especially if filled at Cartridge World, ($7.00 per cartridge). What was cool about it, other than the good photo prints, was the individual color cartridges. I have a Canon Photo printer (Pixma iP3000) that I really liked and was my primary printer, but one night it just didn't turn on any more.
